My sincerest of condolences to the BYU/Provo coed population, minus one Marianne Lind. My much-sought-after brother Matt got engaged to Marianne this weekend. CONGRATS!!! We are thrilled to be adding such a talented, beautiful, smart, happy, fun, fabulous woman to our family. Matthew and I were finally able to meet her and get to know her over Thanksgiving and Christmas and we sure think she is wonderful! Matt is a lucky man.
This is also significant in the Baker family because once our little lady is born and Matt and Marianne tie the knot, the girls will FINALLY BE TIED WITH THE BOYS!!! We've had 9 girls born the past three years and just two boys, so our little one will bring the grandkid total to 14 girls and 14 boys. Obviously the girls have been far outnumbered for way too long. Let's hope Dave and Rach's baby at the end of the summer will be a girl and put the girls in the lead once and for all!
The not so good news about Matt's wedding is that it is too soon after the baby is born and I will definitely still be sporting some lovely baby weight. You would think it would give me serious motivation to control my eating BEFORE the baby is born so I don't have to deal with losing it after, but no. My V-Day See's chocolate box from my oh-so-fabulous husband is already noticibly lighter than when I received it yesterday afternoon. But in my defense, Bridget ate two of the dark chocolate covered raisins. Heh.

Congrats to Matt! I didn't even know he was dating anyone!
So does 'sporting some baby weight' for you mean you're not quite below 110 yet? ;) What would that be like?? :)
Do you even gain "baby weight" Juls?
Okay, okay, you're all missing the point of the entry - that Matt is engaged! But for the record, yes, I gain baby weight. About 6 pounds of "baby weight," and the rest is cookie, candy, and brownie weight!
that's very exciting for your brother :)
als this: who puts chocolate covered raisins in a chocolate box? gag. (unless your husby MADE that box of chocolates for you, in which case it was very sweet and thoughtful, HEH)
Congrats to your brother. They look like such a happy couple! I have such fond memories of dating at BYU and expressing PDA in the fish bowl of the Center for Service and Learning! Ahhhh!!! :)
And clearly I missed the post about you being pregnant. CONGRATULATIONS!!! When is your due date? You are such a wonderful mother.
