Calling for advice. We bought a washer and dryer last week. Matthew wanted a front loader (I was okay with whatever), and we did research on the different kinds and the different brands. We knew from what we read that front loaders vibrate more than top loaders...but HOLY COW. I swear our washing machine is going to take off any moment and shoot to the moon. It is on the second floor and supposedly they don't vibrate as much when they are on a concrete basement or garage floor, but who knows if we'll ever have it in either of those places.
So, does anyone have experience with a front loader? Does yours vibrate this much? Does anyone have a washer/dryer that they love and could recommend to us? We'd have to pay a restocking fee to return them, but it would be totally worth it to me to have one that would stay here on earth and not end up on the moon!
Thank you, thank you!

Sorry I can't help with this but I just have to give you a high school shout out. You were the most amazing (and hysterically funny) friend!! Sorry, I posted about high school so it's on the brain!
I can't help you with the front loaders... I have had many experieces with front loaders in laundry mats (seven years in NJ :))and LOVED them... but I couldn't bring myself to pay for them when we had to buy ours. We bought the standard white top loading washer.. ours is from Home Depot... an Admiral Heavy Duty Super Capacity Plus... it has worked like a gem and washes VERY large loads... which is why I love it :)... Good Luck.
Both my mom and my mother in law have the front loaders, and both are nearly silent. They seem to love them and I must admit that I have coveted them and their quietness. I have decent machines, but they are 11 years old and a bit noisy. maybe it's the brand?
ours is a front loader, and it only vibrates if some of the clothes in the load are really heavy (like nick's heavy duty work jeans) and the load becomes unbalanced. it's crazy when it does vibrate though-- it will vibrate so much that anything on top of it will fly off (note: don't put a trash can for the lint on top of the washer). anyway-- no recommendations though, sorry.
