Uncle Matt comes for a visit!

Three weeks ago my brother Matt came for a visit and we had a blast! Bridget really took to Matt and they became fast buddies. Matthew was out of town for the majority of Matt's visit, so I was especially grateful Matt happened to be in town those days, he was super helpful with Bridget.

The first day he was here we went to the zoo. Matthew and I took Bridget to the zoo in April, and of course, this time she was MUCH more excited about the animals. That afternoon we went swimming, and that night Matt went on a blind date with a girl I used to work with at United Way. They doubled with one of Matt's friends from high school and his wife (he is here going to school), and had a fun time...but no match!

The next day I had an appointment and Matt was kind enough to watch Bridget. I gave him instructions on putting her down for a nap in case I didn't get back by a certain time. When I got home, I couldn't find Matt, Bridget's door was almost completely closed so I figured she was sleeping, but no Matt to be found. I went and turned on the video monitor and could see Bridget standing in her crib, peering over the edge, then getting down and playing for a second, then standing up and looking over the edge again. What the...so I opened her door, and low and behold, there was Matt, sound asleep next to Bridget's crib!!! I put Bridget down for naps and bed while she is awake, but I think Matt thought she was going to fall asleep in his arms. So, eventually he put her in her crib and laid beside it, hoping that would help her fall asleep. WRONG! I think Bridget thought it was GREAT fun that she was having a visitor for nap time!

That afternoon we went hiking to a canyon about 20 minutes away that I had no idea was there! It was fabulous! Bridget did really well in the hiking backpack and almost fell asleep at the end, which was amazing considering she won't sleep anywhere but her crib! The next day we drove out to a pumpkin patch, took a hayride, picked our perfect pumpkin and visited the booths at the patch. Matt left early the next morning and we were sad to see him go. Thanks for the great visit Matt!
