I just have to share this funny story. About six months or so after Matthew and I started dating, we were sitting around talking and I started telling him a story about a guy I had dated about 1 1/2 - 2 years earlier. I'm not going to mention this guy's name, because he's one of those guys I'd like to erase from my dating history (some of my friends and I once decided on a rule that you can erase one guy from your dating history. Unfortunately, there are a few others in line that I'd erase before this guy, so I can't "officially" erase him).
This guy has a very uncommon name, so when I was telling Matthew my story, he stopped me and said, "Wait, what's his last name?" Suddenly I got nervous that he knew him (because I was embarrassed that I ever dated him), but I had to reveal his last name and it turns out that he and Matthew were ROOMMATES in CALIFORNIA several years earlier. Tell me friends, what ARE the chances of that?!? Matthew wasn't terribly fond of him as a roommate...or a person, so he has teased me many-a-times over this guy.
A little over a year ago I received a completely out-of-the-blue e-mail from this guy, wondering what I was up to. It was then I got to write back and tell him I was married to his former roommate, and we were expecting a baby in about six weeks. Haaa, haaa, haaa. Would have loved to see his face when he read that e-mail! Surprise, surprise, he never wrote back...until a month ago when he wrote asking for our address, so he could send us his wedding announcement!!! I'm sure he wanted to send us one just to make sure we knew he got married, but I still thought it rather odd since I haven't seen him in almost five years, he and I dated, and though they were roommates, he and Matthew never were friends. Nevertheless, I of course sent him our address because I love receiving wedding announcements and I was dying to see what his fiance looked like (in the hopes that she was ugly, of course Ü).
A few weeks later we received an announcement and I just now threw it away, which is what made me think of sharing this story. I do hope in the future he sends us birth announcements of his children, so I can silently gloat about how much cuter our kids are. Haaa, haaa, haaa.
(Okay, if I must confess, his wife is very cute and I'm sure they'll have lovely children. Just not as beautiful as mine and Matthew's. Ü)

I'm not gonna lie, I've often wanted to peek into a few lives to see what kinds of girls some boys married, and truth to tell, what kind of men the boys turned out to be However, considering my limited dating experience, I'm not likely to have any conversations like this one anytime soon.
