Our baby is one!

We can't believe Bridget is already one! What a wonderful, quick year we've had with her. We are incredibly grateful to have her in our lives. She keeps us laughing every minute, learning every day, and loving every moment. Who knew we could feel such intense joy and love so deeply because of one little person?

We did several things for her birthday. First, we took her to JCPenney a few weeks before her birthday to get her one-year-old pictures taken. They let you take in a cake and will take pictures while your baby digs into the cake. Bridget has a stuffed Bunny that she just loves, and she also loves bananas, so Matthew made a banana cake, then shaped and decorated it to look like Bunny. He did a fantastic job and all of the photos turned out super cute!

The Saturday before her birthday we held a joint birthday party with her friend Mikalynn. They were born a week apart.

We had a bbq, then divided the adults up into teams for a few games. For the first game one person from each team had to race to drink four ounces of water from a bottle. Then the next game two people from each team competed to see which team could feed one member a jar of baby food first. In the last game, each team had to compete a series of baby tasks - one person had to put a diaper on a doll using only one hand, the next team member had to put together a stacking toy, the next person had to put shapes in a toy shape sorter, and the last person had to snap up a pair of baby pajamas with their eyes closed.

After the games we let the girls dig into their cupcakes (Matthew made four different flavors of cupcakes and decorated them). We also had homemade strawberry ice cream which was deeelicious! I think I went back for thirds... It was a fun party!

On Bridget's ACTUAL birthday, she got more cake, presents, and lots of love from her mom and dad. Happy Birthday beautiful Bridget! We love you!

They grow up so fast; which, depending on the day, is a good thing! Happy Birthday Bridget.

Happy Birthday, Bridget!!! She's such a cutie! I hope I can meet her someday (this means the next time you're up here...lmk, and I'll come down and see you!). Isn't it crazy how fast it goes???
